Edible Paint Sickens Students - DecoCookies, San Bartolomé Coatepec Estado de México

1 year ago reported by user-qgmy1934 business

DecoCookies, Avenida Coatepec, San Bartolomé Coatepec, State of Mexico, Mexico

520 27 Avenida Coatepec, San Bartolomé Coatepec, 52770 Estado de México, Mexico

We provided these to my daughter’s middle school / high school theater group in Ridgway, CO, on March 19, 2023. The theater leader divided the cookies - so only half the kids received the paint palette for their cookie half (about 18 kids total, about nine of whom ate edible paint). Those kids who received the edible paint all got sick within a couple hours - spots in vision, headache, vomiting and tingling in spines. Obviously there was something toxic in the edible paint or the accompanying paint card and brush. One child was unable to perform in their play, and went home sick. The teacher asked kids who ate the paint versus who did not - to quantify what it was that caused the illness. This is deeply concerning as the results were so clear and the kids were able to express their symptoms. | Symptoms: Vomiting, Headache, Blurry vision
