Expired Ice Cream Crisis - Shoppers Drug Mart, Dryden Ontario

4 months ago reported by user-jnjkj792 business

Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, Shoppers Drug Mart, Duke Street, Dryden, ON, Canada

25 Duke Street, Dryden, P8N 1E6 Ontario, Canada

I bought 2 pints of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream about 3 days ago. Finally got around to taking a couple bites and I wasn’t feeling well before bed. Wake up at 2:30 in the morning vomiting and diarrhea coming out the same time. I vomited 3 gravols and 2 pepto bismols. Almost passed out I became so lightheaded and kept vomiting the very bottom of my stomach out, until there was nothing and I was choking on myself forcefully without control. Before driving to the hospital (which I had to stop on the side of the road to projectile vomit thick yellow frothy bile, I had another bout of diarrhea). In the hospital I almost collapsed 2 times and was immediately put on an IV and given strong gravol and liquids to make up for everything in the last 8 hours of hell. Got told it was definitely food poisoning. Was given a prescription of strong Gravol and everything in my body is screaming and jumpy. Come back home to realize I’d been sold one pint of ice cream that expired in May, and the other expired a month ago. We are July 3, 2024. Never experienced that before, am honestly kind of traumatized by the whole situation as I thought I was going to die everytime my eyes rolled back and my legs, hands, and face became numb. It was so bad to the point even the doctor was rubbing my back as I was hunched over a garbage bin, clutching it and violently and loudly vomiting nothing. I couldn’t breathe sometimes bc I was being forcibly made to vomit. I had been empty for 10 hours by then. It’s 5 pm, it all started at around 2:30 am. Worst experience of my life. I’ve become paranoid over the day and even checking the prescribed gravol to make sure it wasn’t expired. There was sweat, fevers, cramps, violent vomiting until my face felt staticky, violent bouts of water diarrhea, and begging nurses and doctors for any kind of help. I hope the other man buying popsicles that day is okay right now. Never again. Please. I beg. All bc of 5 spoonfuls of ice cream as a late night lil treat.
