I would firstly like to state that I had no knowledge of there ever being an possible issue with Lucky Charms prior to this morning. My seven year old son rarely eats cereal for breakfast, however this morning he ate Lucky Charms. He has complained to me that his stomach hurts and feels swirly (which is his way of describing nausea) every time he eats this cereal. I have disregarded it in the past but thought this morning due to his consistent complaints with this specific product that I should look into it. This complaint has been consistent for many months now. I typed into Google “my son feels sick after eating Lucky Charms”. I was shocked to see that this is not an isolated incident by any means and that apparently there has been an investigation that concluded Lucky Charms to be deemed safe and the reports unfounded. I find this very concerning. As I stated earlier, I had no knowledge of any prior complaints regarding General Mills Lucky Charms cereal. I find it extremely odd that my child who never complains and rarely eats cereal has only ever complained after eating Lucky Charms specifically and that he is not the only one by any means. There is clearly some sort of issue going on here that the FDA has apparently looked into and chosen to brush off and sweep under the rug. Very disappointing.
