I bet you were in a movie theatre, right? I wish you had given a more extensive account of what you ate that day—24 hours prior to your illness. Vomiting is an extreme reaction to having consumed popcorn. I cannot see anyone getting sick from popcorn they make at home—were you in a movie theatre?—If so, the butter could have been rancid, but even then. I hope you are better.

Hi, thanks for your comment. TIP: Popcorn could be the source of food poisoning. In 2012, ready-to-eat popcorn was recalled due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that leads to food poisoning and severe illness. Listeria can be especially harmful to pregnant women, people over the age of 65, and those with weakened immune systems.
