We can't confirm what made us ill weather it was the pool, the drinks or the food. However on day 4 we just sat down to dinner when I got a fever and sever pain in my back and stomach. We went back to our room and
that was me for the remainder of my 10 remaining days and for a further 7 days when I got home to the UK. My husband took it on day 8 and he also had it for around a week after we returned. Our friends who came from Canada for a week 1 took it on day 6 and his wife took it on day 8 the 1st day home. As with us and many many other travellers it came on with a fever severe back pain and stomach cramps. Hotel wasn't interested in helping and failed to get us a doctor. The pools were filthy and slimy and the buffet restaurant smelled of raw sewage.

My family and I visited the DR, punta cana in early February at the Grand Bahia Principe Esmeralda resort. After 4 days my mom became violently ill, she could hardly stop vomiting and had diarrhea. We stayed back from the excursion planned the following, 15 of us were sick

2017 - After 2 days on the resort I became extremely ill with diarrhea. Not the normal travelers diarrhea. I couldn't get out of the bed and stayed in the bed sleeping or going to the bathroom the rest of the week. I had to buy diapers
to fly home it was that bad. Once we got home I went to the ER and was told I had not only salmonella but also Ecoli. I was given antibiotics but after a week I was no better. I was given fluid 3 times during this week and was still severely dehydrated. I went to the ER again and was admitted to the hospital. I stayed a week due to the strain of salmonella not responding to antibiotics. Infectious disease was brought in to try and figure out how to cure it. I lost 15 lbs the 7 days I was in Punta Cana. We had visited Punta Cana 6 other times with no issues (at a different resort). The infectious disease doctor believes I contracted the illnesses from a cucumber that had a peel on it.

We were there for 2 weeks, may 28 to june 11, 2019, started feeling ill the day we left, next day got fever, diarrhea, bad sore throat, and rash on face, hands and feet. Lasted for a week and still have rash. Got really bad mosquito bites. My 3 sisters and mom got the same while we were there

My husband and I visited the grand Bahia Bavaro in April 2019 for a week. Everything was fine until we decided to eat at one of the specialty restaurants on site which was “Japanese”. Shortly after we BOTH fell so ill, constant trips to the bathroom and terrible nausea. Lasted for almost 4 days!

July 27, 2018, my fiance and I stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe in Punta Cana and I became very ill. I had severe pain in my stomach after eating dinner at one of the restaurant. I had diarrhea, vomiting and felt very fatigue.

On first day of arrival my wife had to get emergency care by hotel doctor and then taken by ambulance to the emergency room., One person. Symptoms slowly subsided after emergency room treatment, IV and multiple medications.
