Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, Greater Manchester, has had to take the unusual step after restaurant staff found the insects in the kitchen.Hot food is no longer being served from the kitchen until the problem, described as a "small number" of the pests, is eradicted.
An 'essential deep clean' will now be carried out at the hospital.
The canteen serves food for staff and visitors, but is separate from the kitchen used to cook patients’ meals - which is unaffected, hospital bosses said.
