I regret giving a good review for quality, I am constantly returning food to costco which leads me to the conclusion I need to stop buying their food. About a month ago I purchased the wild Pacific Cod which I normally do every couple of months. I... share it with my pups and while separating it to make sure there were no bones, I noticed there was what looked like a strand of fish on the counter. It was coiled up and it wasn't until I touched that I realized it was a worm. See the full kitchen counter shot with the worm to the left. I still have the specimen wrapped up in a plastic bag because I got to the point where I was tired of retuning food and needed to start complaining, enough already. Of course I discarded the entire piece and the other frozen piece left in the freezer BUT not before I had taken a bite out of it to make sure it was cool enough for my girls so praying to God I did not ingest any additional parasites that may have gone unnoticed :( This is one of many food complaints I need to share from Costco. The quality is just not there anymore. Even worse they are starting to put things like maltodextrin in their everything bagels (an industrial waste product from corn that causes a spike in blood sugar) as well as selling products with MSG. Read your labels and educate yourself on the chemicals we are eating everyday that are causing all kinds of health issues, now and down the road. Make it or buy it fresh is all I can say.

• “Fish Sticks” for my 4yr old.
• Shrimp burrito for my wife.
• 3-piece fish ‘n chips for myself.
With a tip cost $62.52
Pricy for what it was.
~ 5:20pm our food arrived.
My kid immediately didn’t want his meal and... only ate French fries and lemon wedges. His “fish sticks” were actually a small order of fish ‘n chips and he described them as “too wiggly” - they were soggy. I am grateful he actually didn’t eat it.
My wife liked her shrimp burrito until the last bite, which she said tasted weird and spit it out.
I was ok with my fish ‘n chips - even though it was indeed soggy - until I let it settle for a few minutes and it never actually settled. We left and after about 30 minutes I started to feel even more nauseous and vomited while shopping at a grocery store.
Went immediately home - another hour drive - and stopped about 4 times along the way so that I could vomit even more. By this time my entire body was aching, especially all of my joints, and my head was pounding.
I ran a fever up to 103.2°f.
Heavy chills, shaking, and sweating.
Even my testicles hurt.
Aching pain in hips, knees, ankles, elbows, wrists, jaw, neck.
My eyes hurt so bad.
I had to call out of work the next day and the day after that as well. 2 days lost of pay and the price of the meal down the toilet. The WORST case of food poisoning I have ever had.
Once we arrived home my wife started to feel ill as well and vomited numerous times. She also developed the joint and muscle pain. Luckily it only lasted one day for her. | Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting, Fever, Headache, Chills, Sweating, Muscle Pain, Shaking, Joint Pain
I’ve had bad diarrhea since eating Thanksgiving. Stomach cramps, gas, diarrhea for two days, dizziness, weakness. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Cramps, Weakness, Dizziness, Gas
SOFIA PRODUCE, LLC, of Nogales, Arizona which does business under the name “Trufresh” (“Trufresh”) is recalling all sizes of fresh cantaloupes packaged in cardboard containers labeled with the “Malichita” label, sold under the following sales order numbers between October 16, 2023 and October 23, 2023 because they... have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. The Cantaloupes were distributed directly to the following States in the United States: Arizona, California, Maryland, New Jersey, Tennessee, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Texas, Florida and Canada. The Cantaloupes would have reached consumers through retail produce markets which may be located in states other than those listed above. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the subject cantaloupes, to date.
Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
The Cantaloupes are packaged in cardboard containers bearing the “Malichita” Label (picture attached). The cantaloupes also have an individual PLU sticker placed upon each cantaloupe in the form of the attached picture. As shown in the picture, the PLU sticker has a top half which is white which has the word “Malichita” written in script in black letters. The bottom of the PLU sticker is black and has the number “4050” prominently displayed in white letters together with the words “Product of Mexico/produit du Mexique”. This label will identify individual Malichita cantaloupes purchased by consumers.
Trufresh is performing this recall after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced a similar recall of cantaloupes packaged with the same Malichita label and bearing the same PLU due to possible salmonella contamination for cantaloupes sold to Fruits et Légumes Gaétan Bono. Trufresh’s investigation has revealed that the order numbers may have been associated with the cantaloupes sold to Fruits et Légumes Gaétan Bono.

Local, state, and federal (CDC, FDA) public health authorities investigated multiple potential clusters of cyclosporiasis cases during 2023, with onset on or after April 1, 2023. As of October 24, 2023, 41 jurisdictions, including 40 states and New York City, have reported a total of 2,272 laboratory-confirmed... cases of cyclosporiasis. 186 have been hospitalized and no deaths were reported. These individuals had not traveled outside of the United States during the 14 days before they got sick. No specific food items have been identified as the source of most of these illnesses.
As it currently stands, the actual count of people infected with cyclosporiasis may be higher than reported, due to some individuals potentially recovering without seeking medical attention or being tested for Cyclospora. Cyclosporiasis, caused by the parasite Cyclospora cayetanensis, causes diarrhea, loss of appetite, and cramping. Cyclosporiasis cases are reported year-round in the United States, with increases in case counts seen during the spring and summer months.
In case you are experiencing Cyclospora symptoms, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
