Local, state, and federal (CDC, FDA) public health authorities investigated multiple potential clusters of cyclosporiasis cases during 2023, with onset on or after April 1, 2023. As of October 24, 2023, 41 jurisdictions, including 40 states and New York City, have reported a total of 2,272 laboratory-confirmed... See More cases of cyclosporiasis. 186 have been hospitalized and no deaths were reported. These individuals had not traveled outside of the United States during the 14 days before they got sick. No specific food items have been identified as the source of most of these illnesses.
As it currently stands, the actual count of people infected with cyclosporiasis may be higher than reported, due to some individuals potentially recovering without seeking medical attention or being tested for Cyclospora. Cyclosporiasis, caused by the parasite Cyclospora cayetanensis, causes diarrhea, loss of appetite, and cramping. Cyclosporiasis cases are reported year-round in the United States, with increases in case counts seen during the spring and summer months.

See More manufactured that day may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Products were distributed in retail stores and Co-Ops located in Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusets, and New York. No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
In addition to that flavor we are recalling ALL other products manufactured at our facility with during the same time period. This involves the following flavors, sizes, and best by dates: Wilcox Premium Product Line – All Flavors – All Sizes with Best By/Sell By dates of 9/14/24 to 11/14/24: The complete list of the products is available at the link below.
All products are packaged in various sizes as noted in the above tables. The SUPER PREMIUM Products are packaged in yellow containers. The Premium Products are packaged in containers that include a picture of an ice cream truck. The Leonardo’s Gelato is packaged with the Leonardo’s logo prominently displayed. The yogurt products are packaged in beige container that says Wilcox Yogurt. The ice cream bars are packaged individually in clear plastic wrap with a sticker. Best by dates for all products can be found either on the sticker or on the side of the packaging.
We were notified by the Vermont Department of Agriculture, who was notified by the New Hampshire Department of Health on 11/14/23 that a routine sample collected by that agency of our Super Premium Mint Chocolate Chip manufactured on 9/15/23 tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. As part of our investigation, we determined that preliminary testing showed that the ice cream mix purchased to make our products may contain Listeria monocytogenes.
Customers should not consume these products.

Grandy Organics provided repacked samples of the product to the potential distributor who in turn had it tested at their labs for their own Quality Assurance records. Friday November 3rd the distributor informed Grandy Organics that traces of coconut were discovered at 6 parts per million in the Gluten Free Honey Oat sample they were given. In response, Grandy Organics swiftly contacted the FDA, initiated additional testing, and issued a recall to safeguard consumers. However, further testing revealed that the initial results were due to known cross-reactivity events with certain ingredients, causing a false positive for the coconut allergen.
The correct testing procedures confirmed that all Grandy Organics products, including the Gluten Free Honey Oat Granola, were free of allergens, as indicated on their packaging. The FDA reviewed the new data, finding no evidence of a violation, and supported Grandy
