The FSIS announced the recall of approximately 148,000 pounds of fully cooked frozen chicken breast patty products by Foster Farms, a Farmerville, La. establishment because they may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically hard clear pieces of plastic. These products were shipped to Costco distribution centers in... Arizona, California, Colorado, Utah, and Washington, and may have been further distributed to Costco retail locations. There have been no confirmed reports of injury associated with the consumption of this product, but FSIS believes the hard plastic pieces could be sharp and possibly cause an injury.
The recalled product is:
- 80-oz. plastic bag packages containing 20 pieces of “CHICKEN PATTIES BREADED CHICKEN BREAST PATTIES WITH RIB MEAT” with best by date “08/11/23,” establishment number “P-33901,” and lot code “3*2223**” in inkjet print on the back edge of the packaging as well as “7527899724” under the barcode.
The problem was discovered when the firm notified FSIS that it received consumer complaints reporting hard clear plastic embedded in fully cooked, frozen, breaded chicken breast patty products with a best-by date of Aug. 11, 2023.
FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and retailers are urged not to sell them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Spinach and artichoke, I ate a little bit of dip and crackers two nights ago and was nauseated. I had a big portion (1/2 cup) last night with crackers and a sparking water. I became nauseated probably an hour later. I laid down and the nausea got... worse. I vomited from 10:30 pm until 4:30 this morning. Then diarrhea started about 5 am and still going on. No fever | Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea
I ate a Marie Callenders Beef Pot Pie last week and a couple hours later vomited and had diarrhea. Was nauseous for 4 to 5 days. Wasn't severe so didn't seem medical treatment. Started feeling better and cooked a Marie Callenders Chicken Pot Pie tonight and noticed... it had a funky smell after it was cooked. Ate a small bite of the crust and it tasted like rancid oil or butter. Remembered last week getting sick after eating the beef one so I threw the chicken one away. Still have a turkey one. Think I'll return it to Walmart where I bought all 3. Definitely not eating it. I've eaten many Marie Callenders products and loved them. First time I've gotten sick from them | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting
