I'm only 22 years old had never taken an antibiotic or been in the hospital in my entire life. Now because of this having low platelets , liver problems here and more. Just scary. They do not care about their passengers. Doctors say that it is possible that I was the only one to ingest the bacteria. But still would like to know if anyone else got sick. My family was treated like animals by Royal Caribbean. Very troubling and eye opening that you can get sick due to their failure to keep their passengers safe, then they throw you and your family out of the ship thousands of miles from home to figure it out for yourself. But not before they charge you for clinic and settle up your bills. They don't care about your health and safety all the money and expenses you have incurred plus the new expenses you will incur at whatever port you were dumped at. The Seattle & King County Public Health is investigating an outbreak of salmonellosis linked to CrackleMi Café located at North 35th Street in Seattle. The PH department advised that all people they interviewed reported eating a different type of banh mi sandwich (e.g., pork, chicken, and egg... See More banh mi). To date, three people reported becoming sick with one or more symptoms consistent with salmonellosis, including nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, bloody stool, and fever. All three cases had lab testing confirmation of a Salmonella infection. Illness onset dates ranged since August 21, 2023.
The Health Dept investigators visited the restaurant on September 19 and 20, 2023, and observed factors that may have contributed to the outbreak such as risk of cross-contamination, improper handwashing, and improper glove use. The restaurant voluntarily closed on September 20, 2023, to clean and disinfect. Public Health Investigators will verify cleaning and disinfection prior to reopening. Public Health research has not identified any ill employees.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control informed about two sub-clusters of Salmonella Enteritidis ST11 have been linked to the consumption of chicken meat in 11 EU/EEA countries. At least 134 human cases have been identified with the most case reports occurring between January and August... See More 2023.
Details from patient interviews in Austria and Denmark suggest that chicken meat may be a possible vehicle of the infection. By August 25, 2023, 97 cases were reported in Austria (6), Belgium (6), Denmark (22), Finland (5), France (19), Germany (1), Ireland (12), the Netherlands (12), Norway (9), Slovenia (3), and Sweden (2). In Denmark, a majority of the interviewed cases reported consumption of food with chicken before symptoms onset. Similarly, interviews of cases in Austria revealed a connection with the consumption of chicken kebabs, burritos or schnitzel prior to the onset of symptoms.
Reports of a microbiological cluster of Salmonella Enteritidis ST11 infections emerged from Denmark in July 2023, with sampling dates beginning in May. Additionally, in August, Austria reported a Salmonella Enteritidis ST11 infections cluster that resulted in one fatality. The disease onset for the first case in this cluster was traced back to mid-March with the last onset date in mid-July 2023. By 25 August 2023, 8 cases were recorded in Austria, and 5 of them reported chicken kebab consumption shortly before the onset of symptoms. Further cases with genetically related isolates were reported in France (10), Germany (10), Norway (3), Slovenia (2) and Sweden (4), giving the total number of cases in this cluster to 37.
Although most Salmonella infections do not require antibiotic treatment, a majority of tested isolates showed resistance to ciprofloxacin, a commonly used treatment. This implies that other antibiotics may need to be used for treatment in the event of an infection. The clusters represent a fraction of all S. Enteritidis ST11 infections, underscoring the need for sustained monitoring and control of food sources in the EU/EEA.
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control urged Countries to report related cases and strengthen collaboration between public health, food safety, and veterinary authorities. The importance of thorough cooking of meat and poultry and avoiding cross-contamination cannot be overstated, particularly for those that are especially vulnerable, such as the very young, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.

The ice cream is packaged in a round container with a UPC of 041497-01194. All sell by dates are included in the recall as a precaution. Sell by dates are located on the bottom of the container. An example of the container and lid has been included with this release.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the product may contain trace amounts of EGG due to processing on shared equipment in error. Customers who have purchased this product may return the product to the store it was purchased for a full refund.

See More urgent need to go to the bathroom while we were in concierge to talk to them about something else. I had diarrhea again. The day we were leaving I took an Imodium before getting on the flight. After arriving home, the next few days I have not been able to have normal bowel movements. It was all loose or diarrhea. I called and spoke to my PCP MD who said I have food poisoning and to give it another day or 2 to resolve and take liquid Pepto Bismal. By the evening of 8/30/23 i had severe nausea and stomach cramping and felt like I was going to die. I had severe diarrhea and anything I ate 4 hours ago came out. Went to urgent care and was prescient antibiotics Flagyl, which has helped significantly. Still eating carefully bland foods but this has been horrific. The resort Bavaro Barcelo Palace is dirty, the buffet is not managed properly, is unsafe and they reuse food that has been sitting out at the wrong temperature all day. In addition they probably let their raw meats spoil and or use old meat. One of the cooks at the buffet told my husband to not eat the meat they were cooking because it’s old meat.
