Ella’s Kitchen is recalling a batch of its Chicken and Veg with Sweetcorn Mash due to potential contamination with furans and methylfurans. The product was distributed nationwide.The product recalled is Ella’s Kitchen Chicken and Veg with Sweetcorn Mash, packaged in 130g sizes. The batch code is 3250 03:53 B5 LC, with a best-before date of October 2024. The product was originally produced in France. Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale.
Furan and methylfurans are process contaminants that can form when food is heated. While consuming the contaminated product doesn't present an immediate health risk, long-term, continuous intake may pose a potential health risk. Therefore, exposure to these substances needs to be minimized.
