On Wednesday 1/04//2023, my son asked me to drop off lunch and I stopped by this food place, and ordered the 6” Mexicali. As I was dropping off his lunch, I smelled something weird, did mention it to my cousin who was with me at the time,... See More and he told me it could be the wrapping paper they use for the sandwiches, so I didn’t think anything of it after that. I dropped off the lunch. I know he didn’t have breakfast that morning and the night before he had a fresh homemade meal of brown rice broccoli, and chicken, as did the rest of the family at around 6 pm. But right after school when I picked him up on Wednesday, he was complaining that he had a horrible stomach pain, headache, and he felt like throwing up. I immediately stopped by the store to pick up Pepto-Bismol for the symptoms, and Pedialyte just in case. At around 7 pm he started vomiting and told me he had diarrhea. He missed school Thursday and Friday of that week, and Monday through Wednesday. I took him to the doctor on Monday morning as that was the first available appointment. They ran blood tests and everything came back normal but he is still having cold sweats, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and pounding headaches ever since. He literally will take naps throughout the day and eat very little as the food he eats makes him more bloated and causes great stomach pain, and vomiting. He is staying hydrated drinking Pedialyte, Gatorade, and water at all times. Tylenol is not helping the unbearable pounding headache at all. I know for a fact this was food poisoning from here because we ate the same thing except the sandwich he had for lunch. He is not getting any better and his doctor has requested a stool sample to test for other bacteria. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Headache, Stomach Pain, Bloating, Sweating See Less

NeoKare Nutrition Limited is recalling its human breast milk products because they contain elevated levels of lead. The company sold a small number of human breast milk products to people online. 30 hospitals were also supplied by the company. Of those supplied, 7 hospitals used the product... See More – 6 in England and 1 in Wales. One of the products was given by some hospitals to a small number of premature babies as part of a clinical trial or as an alternative source of nutrition.
The recalled products are:
• MOTHER’S MILK FORTIFIER (MMF) POWDER 10 x 1g, food for special medical purpose, supplied to NHS Hospitals only for use predominantly in clinical trials involving preterm babies, not available for retail sale
• PASTEURISED HUMAN BREAST MILK (PHBM) POWDER 6g (supplied direct to customers online)
• 70CAL LIQUID FROZEN 15ml and 50ml, (supplied to the NHS Hospitals and supplied direct to customers online)
• PASTEURISED HUMAN BREAST MILK (PHBM) LIQUID FROZEN 50ml (supplied direct to customers online)
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is working with Trading Standards to investigate how human breast milk products made by NeoKare Nutrition Limited contained elevated levels of lead. The risk to the health of those who have been given these products is likely to be low.
If you have any of the recalled products, do not feed them to your baby.
According to FSA, lead is a metal that occurs naturally in the environment. It is present at low levels in many foods as a result of it being in soil and water. Everyone has a background exposure to lead from dietary sources because lead is present in food. Investigations are ongoing to establish how the elevated levels of lead occurred.
There are no maximum levels for lead set in legislation for human breast milk. However, NeoKare Nutrition Limited’s Mother’s Milk Fortifier product is also classed as ‘food for special medical purposes’, which has to be given under medical supervision, and this product does have a maximum legal limit for lead.
If your baby is experiencing symptoms after consuming this product it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist seek medical attention.
