Isola Bio Cuisine Cocco and Easy on Taste - recalled due to unauthorized pesticide

The FSAI announced the recall of Isola Bio Cuisine Cocco and Isola Bio Easy on Taste due to the presence of the unauthorized pesticide ethylene oxide in an ingredient, guar gum. Ethylene oxide is a pesticide that is not permitted for use in foods sold in the EU but is approved for use by other countries outside the EU.The recalled products are:
- Isola Bio Cuisine Cocco; pack size: 200 ml, batch code: 52634819211123 with best before date of 23/11/2021
- Isola Bio Easy on Taste; pack size: 1L, batch code: 5352713211030 with best before date of 30/10/2021
Although the consumption of the contaminated product does not pose an acute risk to health, there is an increased risk if there is continued consumption of contaminated food over a long period of time. Therefore, exposure to this substance needs to be minimized
