Kabul Market Pistachios recalled due to Salmonella

Update January 6th, 2025:The food recall notice issued on December 15, 2025, has been updated by Québec authorities. The list of affected pistachio products has changed, with some products removed and others added.
PRODUCTS REMOVED from the recall:
- Pistachios with or without salted shells
- Pistachios with or without shells, semi-salted
PRODUCTS ADDED to the recall:
- Raw, shell-less pistachios (variable format)
- Raw, shell-less, slivered pistachios (variable format)
All affected products were sold between October 29 and December 11, 2025, exclusively at Marché Kabul in Laval.
The recall remains linked to a Class I risk associated with a national Salmonella outbreak tied to pistachios imported from Iran.

Marché Kabul is recalling various pistachio products due to potential Salmonella contamination. The affected products were sold at Marché Kabul, located at 994 boulevard Curé-Labelle, Laval, between October 29 and December 11, 2025.
AFFECTED PRODUCTS:
PRODUCT: Pistachios with or without salted shells
- Format: Variable
- Lot targeted: Units sold between October 29 and December 11, 2025
PRODUCT: Pistachios with or without shells, semi-salted
- Format: Variable
- Lot targeted: Units sold between October 29 and December 11, 2025
PRODUCT: Raw, shellless pistachios
- Format: Variable
- Lot targeted: Units sold between October 29 and December 11, 2025
PRODUCT: Raw, shell-less, slivered pistachios
- Format: Variable
- Lot targeted: Units sold between October 29 and December 11, 2025
These products were sold in clear plastic containers and were sold at room temperature.
The issue was identified following a national outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to contaminated pistachios imported from Iran. The recall is classified as Class I and was initiated as a precautionary measure.
