Update February 24th, 2026:The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has updated the recall notice to include additional distribution information. In addition to Alberta, the affected Mahrousa brand Tahini was also distributed in Saskatchewan.
The recall remains classified as Class 2.

February 18th, 2026:
Jabbour Export/Import Ltd. has recalled Mahrousa Tahini due to possible Salmonella contamination. The product was distributed in Alberta, Canada.
The recall involves:
- Mahrousa Tahina (Arabic characters only)
- Sold in 800 g packages (Arabic characters only)
- Coded P 23/06/2024 and E 23/06/2026.
- No UPC was listed.
The recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency test results. The recall is classified as Class 2 and was issued on February 18, 2026.
