Nestle UK SMA Wysoy Infant Formula - recalled because it contains pieces of plastic

The FSA announced the recall of SMA Wysoy Infant Formula by Nestle UK because some cans have been found to contain pieces of blue plastic.

FSA advises consumers not to eat the recalled products. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

- SMA Wysoy Infant Formula (800g). Batch code: 025057651Z, 025057652Z, and 025157651Z. Best before: June 2022 and September 2022.

The presence of blue plastic makes this product unsafe to eat and presents a potential choking hazard to babies.

There have been no reports of illness involving the product addressed in this recall, however, people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to anchovy run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. Individuals exhibiting signs or symptoms of foodborne illness or allergies should contact a physician immediately. The issue was discovered during a routine inspection conducted by the Ohio Department of Agriculture.

“The FSIS issued a public health alert about beef and lamb products by One Meat Corp., doing business as Eastern Asia Trading Corporation because they produced without the benefit of federal inspection.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ refrigerators. Consumers are urged no... See Moret to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

These products were shipped to an online retailer, Weee! Corporation, and sold directly to consumers through online sales nationwide. While some products bear the establishment number “EST. 45557” inside the USDA mark of inspection, the products were not produced by federal establishment 45557. The beef and lamb products subject to the public health alert are:

- 1-lb packages of Eastern Asia Trading Corporation “BEEF OMASUM TRIPES.”
- 1-lb packages of Eastern Asia Trading Corporation “GROUND LAMB” with “Production date” 12/26/2020.
