Newgate Express Chicken Instant Noodles - recalled due to unauthorized pesticide

The FSAI announced the recall of a batch of Newgate Express Chicken Flavour Instant Noodles due to the presence of the unauthorized pesticide ethylene oxide. This pesticide is not authorised for use in foods sold in the European Union.The recalled product is:
- Newgate Express Chicken Flavour Instant Noodles, pack size: 100g, Best before date: 08/08/2022, Country of origin: China
Although the consumption of the contaminated product does not pose an acute risk to health, there may be health issues if there is continued consumption of ethylene oxide over a long period of time. Therefore, exposure to this substance needs to be minimized.
Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in Lidl stores supplied with the implicated batch.
