FDA announced the recall of Pamana Premium Bangus products by Foremost Foods International, Inc. due to potential Clostridium botulinum growth and toxin formation. Frozen bangus (milkfish) in reduced oxygen packaging does not contain instructions to keep frozen and instructions for proper thawing (e.g., "Important, keep frozen until used, thaw under refrigeration immediately before use."). These products were distributed in California, Hawaii, Illinois, Washington, Nevada, and Texas.
The recalled products are:
- Pamana Premium Marinated Baby Bangus (Deboned Marinated Baby Milkfish), Net Weight to be Weight at Time of Sale. All product codes. Product Quantity: 432 boxes
- Pamana Premium Marinated Bangus (Deboned Marinated Milkfish), Net Weight to be Weight at Time of Sale. All product codes. Product Quantity: 407 boxes
- Pamana Premium Bangus Belly (Cut Deboned Milkfish Belly), 340 g (120 oz). All product codes. Product Quantity: 448 boxes
This recall was initiated on 12/1/2023 and its status is ongoing. Do not consume, use, sell, serve, or distribute the recalled product.
