Prime Hydration Drink - recalled due to over-fortification of vitamins and labelling issues

2 years ago source recalls-rappels.canada.ca

Alberta, Canada

Prime brand, known for its popular Hydration Drink, has issued a voluntary recall due to concerns of over-fortification of vitamins and labelling issues. The recall spans across a distribution network that includes retail in Alberta.

Detailed examination of the product revealed the Hydration Drink, available in a 500 ml size, to be of concern. The drinks possess various UPC codes and include all flavors that lack bilingual (English and French) labelling. These drinks belong to a batch without a clarified best before date.

The problem was discovered through regular testing procedures conducted by the company to ensure product quality. Upon identifying the excess fortification of vitamins and the lack of bilingual labelling, the company initiated an immediate recall to ensure consumer safety.

Consumers are urged not to consume, use, sell, or distribute the recalled products. If symptoms related to vitamin overdose such as nausea, blurred vision, or rapid heartbeat persist after consumption of the said product, seek medical attention at the earliest.

If you or a loved one are harmed or experiencing any symptoms, it is important to report it. Reporting can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and enables better surveillance.
