Update October 7th, 2025:
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) has expanded its warning regarding products sold by Marché Atlas in Saint-Léonard, Montreal. The update includes an additional affected product (pistachio powder) and extends the sales period for all impacted items through October 6, 2025.

The warning now applies to:
- Loose pistachios (bulk)
- “Warka” pastries (unitary)
- Pistachio powder (bulk)

All items, including any pastries decorated with raw pistachios, may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The expanded alert follows national recalls linked to a Salmonella outbreak associated with contaminated pistachios distributed across Canada.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), along with the City of Montreal's Food Inspection Division, has issued a warning for products sold by Marché Atlas in Saint-Léonard, Montreal. The warning involves raw pistachios and pastries containing them due to potential Salmonella contamination. These products were sold only at the establishment designated above.

AFFECTED PRODUCTS:

PRODUCT: “Loose pistachios”
- Format: Bulk
- Batch Targeted: Units sold until September 19, 2025
- Sold at room temperature

PRODUCT: "WARKA"
- Format: Unitary
- Batch Targeted: Units sold until September 19, 2025
- Sold at room temperature

The issue was identified following a national outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to contaminated pistachios. The warning was classified as Class I, indicating a high health risk. This was initiated on September 20, 2025.
