Food Safety Report: Sheridans Cheesemongers Wicklow Ban Cheese recalled due to Listeria

7 months ago source fsai.ie

Recall notice

Ireland

Sheridans Cheesemongers is recalling its Wicklow Ban Cheese due to a potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The batches were sold from Sheridan's Cheese counters in Dunne Stores shops.

The recalled product is Sheridans Cheesemongers Wicklow Ban Cheese, sold in 150g packs. All use-by dates from 16/02/2024 to 25/02/2024 inclusive, as well as use-by dates of 05/03/2024 & 09/03/2024 are included in the recall.

Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batches. Symptoms of this infection can range from mild flu-like symptoms to severe complications, particularly in vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, babies, and the elderly.

In case you are experiencing Listeria monocytogenes symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
