Update September 16th, 2025:The recall has been expanded to include:
- Deep brand Green Garlic (340g)
- Batch IN25151K
- With a Use by date of 29 NOV 2026
- Due to potential Salmonella contamination.

August 27th, 2025:
Vimms Enterprise Limited has issued a recall for all batches and dates of Deep brand Sprouted Mat, Sprouted Moong, and Surti Undhiu Mix due to potential Salmonella contamination. These products were distributed in Auckland at select supermarkets and nationwide through ethnic supermarkets and the company's online store in New Zealand.
The Deep brand Sprouted Mat and Sprouted Moong are sold at the following retailers in Auckland:
- Arjun Supermarket – 5 Rankin Avenue, New Lynn
- Lotus Supermarket Mount Roskill – 64 Stoddard Road, Mount Roskill
- Yogiji’s Supermarket Frost Road – 30A Frost Road, Mount Roskill
AFFECTED PRODUCTS:
Deep brand Sprouted Mat (454g)
Deep brand Sprouted Moong (454g)
Deep brand Surti Undhiu Mix (340g)
- Sold in plastic bags
- All batches and dates are affected.
- The products are imported from India and sold at specific Auckland retailers and online.
- The products have not been re-exported.
The recall was initiated on August 28, 2025, following the discovery of the potential contamination. The recall is classified as a precautionary measure, and no illnesses have been reported to date.
