The CFIA announced the recall of Al-Rabih brand Halva / Halawa and Tahini by Phoenicia Group Inc.due to possible Salmonella contamination. This is the 4th update to include additional product information. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these productsConsumers should not consume and distributors, retailers and food service establishments such as hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals and nursing homes should not sell or use the recalled products. These products were distributed nationwide in Canada.
If you have the recalled products in your home, please do not eat them, throw them away or returned them to the place of purchase.
In case you are experiencing Salmonella symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance.
