Food Safety Report: Yummy Pearl Barley - recalled due to undeclared allergen

8 months ago source foodstandards.gov.au

Recall notice

Australia

Yummy Snack Foods has issued a recall for its Pearl Barley products in both 1kg and 500g sizes due to an undeclared allergen, specifically gluten. The products have been distributed and sold at independent retailers, including IGA, across New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia.

The recalled products include all Pearl Barley under the Yummy Snack Foods brand. The recall applies to all batches and UPCs of the 500g and 1 kg packages, with a best-before date up to and including 6/02/2026.

Consumers who have a gluten allergy or intolerance may experience a reaction if the product is consumed. It is advised that those with a gluten allergy or intolerance should not consume this product and should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

In case you experience harm from allergens or undeclared ingredients, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
