Wilcox Ice Cream of East Arlington, VT is recalling all flavors of Wilcox brand ice cream, yogurt, and ice cream bars, as well as Leonardo’s brand gelato after being notified by the Vermont Department of Agriculture on 11/14/23 that one lot of the Super Premium Mint Chip... See More manufactured that day may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Products were distributed in retail stores and Co-Ops located in Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusets, and New York. No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

In addition to that flavor we are recalling ALL other products manufactured at our facility with during the same time period. This involves the following flavors, sizes, and best by dates: Wilcox Premium Product Line – All Flavors – All Sizes with Best By/Sell By dates of 9/14/24 to 11/14/24: The complete list of the products is available at the link below.

All products are packaged in various sizes as noted in the above tables. The SUPER PREMIUM Products are packaged in yellow containers. The Premium Products are packaged in containers that include a picture of an ice cream truck. The Leonardo’s Gelato is packaged with the Leonardo’s logo prominently displayed. The yogurt products are packaged in beige container that says Wilcox Yogurt. The ice cream bars are packaged individually in clear plastic wrap with a sticker. Best by dates for all products can be found either on the sticker or on the side of the packaging.

We were notified by the Vermont Department of Agriculture, who was notified by the New Hampshire Department of Health on 11/14/23 that a routine sample collected by that agency of our Super Premium Mint Chocolate Chip manufactured on 9/15/23 tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. As part of our investigation, we determined that preliminary testing showed that the ice cream mix purchased to make our products may contain Listeria monocytogenes.

Customers should not consume these products.

In case you are experiencing Listeria monocytogenes symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, it is important to report it. GHGA, LLC is voluntarily recalling select fresh-cut products made from whole cantaloupe subject to a previously announced product recall initiated by Sofia Produce, LLC dba Trufresh, due to potential Salmonella contamination. As of November 29, there have been no illnesses reported related to GHGA fresh-cut products. The... See More fresh-cut fruit products containing recalled cantaloupe were distributed to Kroger stores in Alabama and Georgia, Sprouts stores in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, and Trader Joe’s retail stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

All GHGA fresh-cut fruit products associated with the recalled whole cantaloupe associated with the outbreak have expired, however consumers who have purchased these items and may have frozen them for later use are urged not to consume the products and to dispose of them immediately or return the items to their local store for a full refund.

The products are packaged in clear square or round plastic containers, marked with a “sell by” date and a lot code on the label.

Voluntarily recalled items include the specific products, lot codes, and expiration dates in a link below or images attached. No other products are affected.

According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), several illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the whole cantaloupe recalled by Sofia Produce, LLC dba Trufresh, however, as of November 29, no illnesses have been confirmed to be associated with GHGA products.

- 20-lb. carton boxes containing four packages of “SKYLINE PROVISIONS, INC. GROUND BEEF 75/25” with “ITEM # 000293” printed on the label.

These products were produced and packed on Aug. 19, 2023, and bear establishment number “EST. 19300” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The problem was discovered after FSIS received a customer complaint reporting that a foreign object was found during food preparation.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in institutional freezers. Institutions are urged not to serve these products.

The New York State Agriculture Commissioner announced the recall of Aviator's "Dried Tomato Halves" by S. Katzman Produce due to the presence of undeclared sulfites. The recalled product is Aviator brand "Dried Tomato Halves" sealed in a clear five-pound plastic bag and labeled with "Lot: 00923/1."

The recall situation emerged through routine testing by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. Inspectors identified that the product contained high sulfite levels, previously unlisted on the product. Sulfites can provoke severe reactions, including anaphylactic shock, in sensitive individuals and some asthmatics.

Sulfite-sensitive consumers who have purchased the recalled "Dried Tomato Halves" are prompted to avoid consumption. People who have severe sensitivity to sulfites may run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume this product.
