Recall details: Stonewall Kitchen of York, Maine is voluntarily recalling 4,812 jars of its Ghost Pepper Queso with an Enjoy By date... of 23MAY2021, as a small number of those were mislabeled as Ghost Pepper Salsa. Ghost Pepper Queso includes two allergens, milk and soy, that are not included in Ghost Pepper Salsa, and therefore don’t appear on the ingredient statement of the mislabeled jars. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk and soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. While Stonewall Kitchen believes that only a small number of jars were mislabeled out of the 4,812 which were manufactured that day, the company is recalling all of them out of an abundance of caution. Of note, the mislabeled jars should be very easy to spot: Ghost Pepper Queso product is a bright yellow-orange color, while Ghost Pepper Salsa is dark red. A limited quantity of this product was distributed nationwide to consumers through Stonewall Kitchen’s retail stores and through third-party wholesale customers such as specialty grocers or gourmet food shops. To date, Stonewall Kitchen has not experienced any problems or complaints about these products. No injuries or illnesses have been reported. This is a voluntary recall as a precautionary measure. This voluntary recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the US Food and Drug Administration. If consumers have any of the above product, they must discontinue use and return it to place of purchase for a full refund. Enclosed: Photos of Stonewall Kitchen Ghost Pepper Salsa and Ghost Pepper Queso to show how mislabeled product appears. Ghost Pepper Queso is bright yellow-orange in color. Ghost Pepper Salsa is dark red in color. Only Ghost Pepper Queso could be affected, if the product has the UPC for Ghost Pepper Salsa (711381327388). If the Ghost Pepper Queso has the Ghost Pepper Queso label and UPC (711381331217) then it is not subject to the recall and is labelled correctly. Additionally, Ghost Pepper Salsa labeled with the specified UPC (711381327388) and Enjoy By Date is not affected and safe to consume.

“Loaded potato soup from there I was the Only one who ate it. I purchased it last week. Opened it yesterday. Ate about a third of the container the normal portion. The expiration date is not until May 6, 2020. It seemed fine when I ate it for lunch yesterday.... I had other food for dinner I still felt OK. About 3 AM I started feeling sick but was able to go back to sleep. I just woke up and threw up only the soup as far as I can tellAbout an hour ago. I think I feel better I’m hoping that it’s not going to keep coming time will tell. Did not seem to throw up any of my dinner or anything else a yesterday just the soup as far as I can tell ”

Recall details: H&C Food Inc. of Brooklyn, NY is recalling 7.05OZ (200G) Enoki mushrooms imported from Green Co. located... in Korea, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The recalled 7.05OZ (200G) Enoki mushrooms was distributed to NY, MD and VA areas through Great Wall Supermarket between February 15th, 2020 to March 5th, 2020. Enoki mushrooms were sold to Great Wall Supermarket in 7.05 oz / 200 g clear plastic packaging with a green label, UPC#831211204181, 25 packs/ net weight 5kg per carton. “H&C Food Inc.” company name can be found on the back of the clear plastic packaging.
No illnesses related to products distributed by H&C foods have been reported, to date. The recall was the result of FDA evidence of potential contamination of Enoki Mushrooms from Green Co. Ltd. H&C Food Inc. has ceased the distribution of the product as FDA and the company continue their investigation as to what caused the problem. Consumers who have purchased 7.05OZ (200G) Enoki mushrooms imported from Green Co. located in Korea are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
