Choc Ice Cream Illness - Dollar General, Lebanon Maine

Edy's chocolate ice cream!
My 4yo grandson and I ate this yesterday, it was also purchased yesterday at Dollar General in Lebanon Maine.

He was up all night tossing, turning and crying, he was also hot, then cold chills, he does not currently have a cold either and normally sleeps very sound every night and never wakes up all night. He couldn't get to sleep last night, which isn't normal, he kept changing his positions and turning every way, I had to change his pull ups 4 times, because of having diarrhea through the night and he already went yesterday so that was not normal either. Then; I also started to get the same symptoms! cramps, sharp pains and bloating, then I had the same diarrhea and that's when I realized we had the same kind of symptoms with belly aches which is not normal for either of us.

The only thing we ate the same last night was "Edy's Chocolate Ice Cream" which was purchased yesterday at Dollar General in Lebanon, Maine, just a few miles down the road. It stayed frozen and looked/looks fine, no freezer burn, not melted, nothing out of the ordinary so it has to be in the production of the ice cream, either something in the ingredients or something in the process was unclean and had bad germs and/or bacteria because we both got sick from it very soon after consuming last evening.

I want to know how many other people got sick from eating this ice cream on or near the same purchase date or batch on May 6th, 2024.

Grandson is still having tummy and bathroom issues. he's had disturbed and trouble sleeping since Sunday evening, 2 nights in a row, diarrhea since Saturday night, wearing pull-ups, every change which is way more than usual he's had runny diarrhea in everyone.

Finally, he had a full (#2/poop) in his pull-up at noon. he's finally not doubled over in pain. he's suffered 2½ days of painful cramps, broken sleep, and changing his pullup consistently so many times, he has a painful red rash on his bum.

All because of wanting chocolate ice cream in a cone.

I still have the Edy's container in my freezer if lot #'s, etc are needed. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Cramps, Bloating, Chills, Stomach Pain
