Day 2 I got sick with diarrhea. I took Imodium to stop it so I could leave room. However, without taking it I am sick. I threw up 1 day. I have diarrhea, severe stomach pain, nausea, dizziness, terrible gas, chills and overall feel miserable 9 days now. I am home and trying to treat it. Does anyone know the exact bacteria or organism causing this? What meds have worked to kill it? I need it to go away permanently. My husband and 5 year old also have it. I am also nursing my baby who is ok. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Dizziness, Chills, Stomach Pain, Gas
someone on a google review said they were in hospital with a diagnosed parasite. but most people mention possible food poisoning or Norovirus
Our group was there from March 12 to 19th. It’s now 12 days after the onset of symptoms and many of us are still sick. 3 of the adults saw Dr.s in the last 24 hours who all confirmed that it is likely bacterial. They were all prescribed Ciprofloxacin (from different Dr.s, so I assume this is to treat various bacteria) but they also gave samples that are being tested for confirmation. I can update if we learn more specifics.
Yes please update if/when you learn more specifics. My family is booked to go April 23 rd for a week, and now I’m scared.
is any of this being reported to health departments? embassy? for those of us trying to rebook, we are out the entire cost of trip, including flights, to just switch hotel .....

We are in the same boat! Really struggling to make the right choice here!
..... multiple people have reported conformed at doctors/hospitals of parasite infection. SO where can all this be reported and dealt with properly (closed)?
Here, in Canada, you can get Cipro (antiobiotic) without any prescription, so if you get really sick during your vacation, you can easily treat it right away. If it is a virus, than just take antinausea, antidiarrhea and a lots of fluids (you can easily bring rehydration packets in your suitcase). Don't forget to bring hand sanitizer and to use it before each meals. You can also take probiotic tablets a week before your trip to help your immune system and gut flora. I personnally have talked to many guests of the hotel and those who came prepared didn't get anything, unlike many other guests that weren't. My family and I are going next week and we already took every precautions. I will keep you posted.
Hand sanitizer doesn’t kill norovirus. Washing does. Including utensils and plates.
