Food Safety Report: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, Bv. Turístico del Este, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, Bv. Turístico del Este, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Boulevard Turístico del Este, Punta Cana, 23000 La Altagracia, Dominican Republic

I went to Punta Cana to attend a wedding in June 2018. I avoided water unless it was bottled and I opened it myself. I avoided foods that would require water on preparation because I had been warned about the bacteria in the water. On our last day I became violently ill, i had to take a package of Imodium to make the flight to Miami and was thankful for the layover and the opportunity to spend a couple of hours in the restroom then to purchase and take another package of Imodium for the last leg of our trip back to Boston. When I got back home my husband took me to the hospital where I was diagnosed with dehydration and dysentery. I was given antibiotics and told yo return to the ER if the severity of the symptoms didn't subside in a week. I continued to have immobilizing
abdominal pain, fever, cramps and GI issues for several weeks and it took no less than 3 months for me to regain my strength. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Nausea, Vomiting, Dehydration, Cramps
