Salmonella at Hotel Buffet - Hotel, Giardini Naxos Sicilia

My parter and myself stayed at the above hotel from Tuesday 9th sept until Tuesday 16th sept 2025, on an EasyJet all inclusive package deal.On Saturday 13th Sept we spent the whole day at the hotel only eating at the hotel for the entire day. In the evening we ate in the buffet restaurant where all meals breakfast, lunch and evening dinner were provided.
By morning we both experienced severe diarrhoea, this continued for the rest of our stay, we were confined ourselves to our room only myself going out to get water from the local supermarket (not supplied or offered to us by the hotel).
On the Sunday 14th, I did inform hotel reception, but no decernible action seemed to be taken by them, as far as we know.
We returned on Tuesday 16th flying from Catina to LGW, getting through the flight with the use of Imodium tablets, this eased the symptoms for the fright but our symptoms resumed once we were home.
On our Return we sort advice from our own doctor and we’re told to submit test which we did on Wednesday 17th Sept. The result of the pathology test on our faeces show the salmonella is present in our samples and is the cause for our infection and symptoms.
I would like to report this as I do not feel the hotel took our illness seriously at all, I am also concerned that other people will be subjected to the same infections if urgent action is not taken against this hotel and it’s restaurant. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Fever, Cramps, Chills
