Clam Chowder Illness Outbreak - Costco, Bonney Lake Washington

1 year ago reported by user-rbkfp162 business

Ivar's Clam Chowder, Costco Wholesale, 204th Avenue East, Bonney Lake, WA, USA

9801 204th Avenue East, Bonney Lake, 98391 Washington, United States

Ivar's Clam Chowder with Bacon two pack 24 oz,
My family ate this and became very sick, the 24oz 2 Pack Ivar's Clam Chowder with Bacon from there purchased on 7/9/23. The date stamp says use or freeze before 10/23.

Symptoms have been mainly extremely heavy abdominal cramping, vomiting, some chills, watery stool, possible body aches for the person who ate the most. Indigestion, and noxious long lasting (36 hours) flatulence, light cramping, gurgling intestines, loss of hunger, and possible body aches, mild headache in person who ate the least. The person who ate the most of it got by far the most sick.

Full onset after 4-10 hours. Symptoms still continuing after 36 hours from onset. Symptoms began mild after 4 hours and then progressed to BAD after 8-12 hours. 12-24 hours after consumption were extremely awful. Now, nearly 36 hours past consumption, and 32 hours since onset, symptoms have greatly reduced but still mild nausea, mild cramping, possible muscle aches, headache, flatulence, and poor or decreased digestion of simple foods / broth. Digestion is very hampered and feels very off. We are still sick.

Health warning stating disposal / do not eat orders / official warnings ran from 4/23 to 8/23 BUT should be extended to include 10/23 best by date!!!

They need to do a FULL RECALL and extend the dates!!! We bought this not long ago, I believe on 7/9/23.

We really want to know what pathogen or food spoilage organisms we've been exposed to. We want to know specifically what Ivar's results from testing were found in their products. We want to know what we've been exposed to and what we need to do in the short term and the long term to be cured. We want to know why they're not still testing and instead letting more contaminated food get to the public. The official reports and news articles say no one got sick so far. I do not see how that is even possible or accurate. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Headache, Chills, Indigestion, Flatulence, Body Ache, Cramps, Muscle Pain
