I’ve eaten these protein bars many times! We ran out so bought a new box. Sunday night I wanted one so at 9:30pm are one. I had been totally fine all day and hadn’t eaten since 5pm so wanted a treat. Within 15-20 min my stomach started hurting very bad. That turned into massive stomach pain and vomiting within 40 min. I then was up all night with serious pain. Monday morning I wake to severe diarrhea cramps. I think I ran to the toilet 50 times that day, that night I feel very unwell. Tuesday I feel like death and I have severe stomach cramps. Wednesday more diarrhea. Thursday I’m a little better. Im still cramping but not as intense and I can finally eat a little bit without getting ill. Now it’s Friday and I’m still having cramping but no diarrhea so I hope this is almost over. I lost a week of my life hanging out in the bathroom. My son is in the ER with anaphylaxis after eating the cookie dough protein bar. They administered epinephrine and Benedryl. He said about 20 minutes after he ate it it felt like something was in his throat. About 90 minutes later he was vomiting. By the time we got to the ER he broke out in hives all over his body. I knew right then it was an allergic reaction. I would have never connected the dots to an allergen without that rash. He didn’t have anything stuck in his throat, it was actually swelling up in him.

Oh no!! That is scary!
I felt it necessary to also write a comment on this. Surprisingly, my wife ate one of the Costco chocolate chip cookie dough protein bars the other day and shortly there after had stomach pains which led to vomiting stomach cramps and now she’s on day two with similar circumstances. I don’t think it’s just a coincidence that there’s something not right with these protein bars, contaminated whey?? In any event, I will be returning these to Costco for a full refund.

Oh no! Something is for sure wrong with these bars. I haven’t felt like I did last year at all since. I’m staying far away from these bars.
I feel I need to report I have had all the above same issues from eating the Kirkland Protein Bar in the Chocolate Brownie flavor...I have eaten these many times over the last few years without any problems...I purchased online at the Costco.com site a package that included 10 of the Chocolate Brownie and 10 of the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough...The box of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough I had eaten first without any problems...About 4 weeks ago I ate my first of the Chocolate Brownie and got sick that night but was not sure it was from the bar..However, after 2 days ago eating a second one of the Chocolate Brownie bars and getting very sic I am positive the protein bar is causing this sickness, .This is my 3rd day and still not back to normal.. Costco needs to be held responsible for all these complains and resolve the issue.

This is the third time I have gotten nauseous straight away after eating a Costco Signature Chocolate Brownie protein bar within the last 6 months. Been eating them for years prior to this with no issues whatsoever. I just found out after searching online that Costco reformulated their ingredients last year. So it appears whatever they are using in the bars now isn’t settling well with my stomach. Not sure if it’s a different type of whey protein or the tapioca starch they started using for dietary fiber. Whatever it is, I’ll be avoiding these bars from here on out. Too bad because the chocolate brownie bar is the only type of protein bar that actually tastes good to me. :-(
I bought these Monday and have had one each day and just put it together that they were making me very sick. Nausea, stomach pain, feel sooo sick
I purchased these for the first time last week. After taking one bite and putting the cookie dough bar down, I experienced the same symptoms. Intense stomach pain and vomiting, back pain (my stomach and back are always correlated somehow...), and severe diarrhea. I am not sure what is in these, but it is something very bad.
