Food Safety Report: La Nopalera Mexican Restaurant, 4530 St Johns Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32210, United States.

6 years ago source bizjournals.com business

4530 Saint Johns Avenue, Jacksonville, 32210 Florida, United States

Date Closed: 12/24/2019

It was temporarily closed on Dec. 23 after inspectors observed 31 live flying insects in the kitchen. The manager reportedly began killing the flies, but the inspector re-examined the area and found approximately 21 live flies still in the area. The restaurant was also cited for accumulation of a black mold-like substance in the ice machine, accumulation of food debris on a food-contact area, and failure to provide paper towels or a hand drying device at a sink. A follow-up inspection the same day revealed seven additional flies, but they were killed, and the restaurant reopened that day.
