This is probably more likely to be Norovirus which is currently spreading. Easily spread through touch and commonly mid-diagnosed as food poisoning.

TIP: Food poisoning is commonly caused by Norovirus! According to the US CDC, Noroviruses are the leading cause of foodborne illness.
That's why if you are sick you shouldn't go and spread the virus i to the food you are preparing?

If you have Norovirus the National Health Service in the UK recommends: "...stay off work or school until at least 48 hours after the norovirus symptoms have stopped. avoid visiting anyone in hospital during this time. wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water particularly after using the toilet and before preparing or handling food."
