Food Safety Report: Secrets Royal Beach, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

2 years ago reported by user-tvfjp337 business

Secrets Royal Beach, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Punta Cana, 23000 La Altagracia Province, Dominican Republic

Just got back yesterday, vomited and had diarrhea the entire day. Another member of group experienced this while at the resort on Day 3. 7 out 9 people experienced nausea, intensive stomach pains/cramping and/or diarrhea. NOBODY drank the tap water.

They also serve counterfeit liquor , even at preferred bars. My friends that arrived earlier warned me that the liquor color, taste and smell was off. However due to the language barrier they had no success addressing their concerns. I asked the bartender for a Don Julio Añejo shot and point to the bottle. He pours a shot and the liquor is obviously not dark enough. I take a small sip and the taste is completely off. I then request him to go get a fresh bottle and open it in front of us , in Spanish. He knew the jig was up. He immediately went and retrieved a fresh unopened bottle. The new shots he poured were darker , and tasted completely different. We had to request a fresh unopened bottle at every bar just to be safe. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Cramps
