Everytime I drink one of the slim fast advanced nutrition 20g high protein strawberry flavor I get stinging in the back of my throat. I'm not allergic to strawberry. What is it?? .... I don't know but it's everytime I drink this specific drink it triggers the sting. I've tested various times in different ways and forms to see if it was this specific drink and it never fails to happen when it's this drink only. I mean I love the flavor because im on a diet and can't seem to hold down other flavors that other shakes provide but I'm concerned about that uncomfortable stinging in the throat. | Symptoms: Other
Did you find out what it was? Been happening to me too!!!

same here burning my throat
Jumping in to say the same thing is happening to me when I drink the vanilla one. Strange burning sensation in the back of my throat. What happened to the formula? Did it change?
Same experience with high protein vanilla cream...
Same here, burning or itching at the back of my throat drinking an Orange Cream Swirl flavor. I use the chocolate powder regularly and never feel like this. I have no food allergies and am not ill. What is in these drinks that is causing this?
I’ve been having this too with the chocolate kind!
Oh my gosh! Me too! Started with strawberry, & is even worse with vanilla. So far though I'm not sick or anything.
Me too with the Orange Cream Swirl.
Same issue here with the vanilla flavor.
I have been drinking these for over a year as a breakfast replacement. Something in the last few months has changed. All the sudden these new ones are giving a burning sensation in my mouth/throat and then unsettling my stomach. It like people have mentioned it feels like an allergic reaction, but I have been drinking these for a very long time. It mabe something to do with new batches. Same thing, a light burning in back of my throat when drinking the new labeled high protein vanilla cream and there seems to be a new aftertaste
Omg me too! Bought the strawberry today! Acid taste and burning throat! Anyone know why?
I've mildly had this issue with the chocolate, much more with the vanilla
I just tried the Vanilla High protein, and back of my throat was burning!
Same thing happened with the vanilla. My daughter has been drinking these for awhile and then the case I bought a few days ago of the vanilla did that to both of us.
Same issue here burning in the back of throat after 2 or 3 sips, did anyone figure out why?

Me too! Just got a case of slimfast high protein strawberries and cream at our grocery outlet. First sip and it burned like acid. It's been awhile since I bought them, do I thought maybe I'm not used to it. Finished it quickly and it has been 15 minutes. I'm nauseous and no amount of water is getting rid of this horrible acidic aftertaste. Is there a recall or anything?? This is awful.
I bought an 8-pack of high protein Slim Fast in Rich Chocolate flavor. I opened one and took a couple of drinks and felt a slight burning sensation at the back of my throat, like having a sore throat. I drank a bit of water and it went away. I threw that bottle out without drinking any more. A few days later I decided to try another bottle. Same thing happened. I didn't really expect to find anything when I Googled Slim Fast and sore throat, but here we are. Although it has been a while since I had used Slim Fast prior to this purchase, I never experienced this any of the previous times I have drank it. I have also been drinking Equate recently and it does not cause the same problem.

Same here with the creamy chocolate high protein. What is making it do that?
I just had a strawberry high protein one. Every sip my throat was burning. I know this can’t be good so I threw out the whole package!! Ugh

I suggest reaching out to them, i did and after about a week they came back with this response: We apologize for the delay. We have completed our investigation into the safety of the product and can confirm that the product is safe to consume. The burning sensation you reference appears to be primarily a taste and consistency issue, and we are continuing to investigate a solution in order to improve consumer experience if everyone calls them, maybe they will realize its not an isolated incident.
Same, only this flavor and type
