April 30th, 2025:
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is actively investigating an outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes. The source of the outbreak has not yet been identified. Ten people have fallen ill across various locations. The FDA discovered the problem through routine sampling and inspection procedures. The agency has initiated traceback efforts to identify the source of the Listeria monocytogenes. As the investigation continues, more information will be provided to the public.

The outbreak, referenced as 1220 (USDA 2025-06), was reported on April 30, 2025. The FDA has not yet linked the outbreak to any specific products. The investigation is ongoing, with the status of the outbreak still classified as active. The total case count currently stands at ten, but this number may change as the investigation progresses.
