Hepatitis A Confirmed Case at Burlington Restaurant in Ontario

1 month ago source halton.ca business

2031 Lakeshore Road, Burlington, L7R 0A4 Ontario, Canada

Halton Region Public Health has identified a case of hepatitis A in an employee at Burlington Charcoal Pit (2031 Lakeshore Rd, Burlington). The individual worked at the restaurant between October 23 and November 1, 2025, and anyone who ate or drank there during that period may have been exposed to the virus, which can cause liver infection and poses a higher risk for older adults and those with existing liver conditions.

The outbreak was identified when Halton Region Public Health was notified on November 12 of a hepatitis A case in a food handler at the Burlington Charcoal Pit. The restaurant has since been inspected and found compliant with public health standards.
