Hepatitis A Exposure Alert at Tam O'Shanter Restaurant in Los Angeles

2 months ago source publichealth.lacounty.gov business

2980 Los Feliz Boulevard, Los Angeles, 90039 California, United States

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is investigating a potential hepatitis A exposure at Tam O'Shanter Restaurant, located at 2980 Los Feliz Boulevard, Los Angeles. An employee has been diagnosed with the virus, but no additional cases have been reported. The investigation remains ongoing as of November 7, 2025.

The potential exposure period is identified between October 24 and November 1, 2025. Patrons who consumed food or beverages at the restaurant during this time may have been exposed to the hepatitis A virus. Public Health officials advise that individuals who may have been exposed receive the hepatitis A vaccine within 14 days of their visit to the restaurant to mitigate the risk of infection. Those who have completed the hepatitis A vaccine series or have had a previous infection are considered protected.

The issue was discovered following the diagnosis of the restaurant employee with hepatitis A. Public Health is collaborating with the restaurant to ensure all non-immune employees receive vaccinations. The department continues to monitor the situation and is working to prevent further exposure.
