Hepatitis A Outbreak in Frognerseteren cafe in Oslo, Norway

Frognerseteren cafe and restaurant in Oslo is at the center of a hepatitis A outbreak, with 22 reported cases. The Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) has confirmed 12 cases through sequencing. Affected individuals are primarily from Oslo, with others in Akershus, Vestland, and Innlandet. Local health services are offering vaccinations to recent patrons.Affected people:

The outbreak was first identified when individuals tested positive for hepatitis A between July 10 and August 5. The NIPH has taken over coordination of the investigation, working with Oslo municipality and the Food Safety Authority. Frognerseteren closed on August 2 to prevent further spread, as the outbreak has reached various parts of the country.
The issue came to light following reports of illness among patrons who dined at the restaurant. Sequencing at the National Reference Laboratory confirmed the link to Frognerseteren. The NIPH is advising those who consumed food there from mid-June to August 2 to seek medical advice if symptoms develop. Vaccination is recommended for those exposed within the last 14 days.
