July 9th, 2026:
A new outbreak of Salmonella Oranienburg has been reported, affecting 51 individuals across various locations. The source of the outbreak remains unidentified. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has initiated a traceback investigation to determine the origin of the contamination.

The outbreak, referenced as #1387, was officially added to the FDA's table of foodborne illness outbreaks on July 8, 2026. The investigation is currently active and ongoing. The FDA is working to trace the source of the Salmonella Oranienburg pathogen. The status of the outbreak remains active, and no recall has been initiated at this time.

The problem was discovered through routine surveillance and reporting of foodborne illnesses. Health officials began investigating after a cluster of Salmonella Oranienburg cases was identified. The FDA has since started traceback procedures to pinpoint the source of the outbreak.
