Potential Hepatitis A exposure linked to Applebee's in Montgomery, AL

4 years ago source alabamapublichealth.gov business

3195 Taylor Road, Montgomery, 36116 Alabama, United States

The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH), in cooperation with Applebee’s Restaurant in Montgomery, is warning anyone who consumed food, whether dine-in, pickup, or delivery at Applebee’s, located at 3195 Taylor Road in Montgomery, Ala., between the dates of July 8 through July 16, 2021 that may have been potentially exposed to hepatitis A, as they are investigating a food handler who is infected with hepatitis A virus. ADPH is suggesting to these customers that may need the hepatitis A vaccine or immune globulin to reduce their chance of illness.

If you have eaten food prepared at Applebee’s, located at 3195 Taylor Road in Montgomery, Ala., between the dates of July 8 through July 16, 2021, contact your health care provider, pharmacy, or the Montgomery County Health Department regarding getting the vaccine as soon as possible. You may also contact your local provider if you are uncertain about your past vaccine status.

If you are experiencing Hepatitis A symptoms like fever, jaundice, nausea, clay-colored stool, dark urine, malaise, abdominal discomfort, or vomiting, it is important to report it. It can help to detect and resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance.
