For the outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis (ref #1301), FDA has issued an outbreak advisory. Consumers are advised not to eat large brown cage-free "sunshine/omega-3 golden" yolk eggs sourced from Country Eggs, LLC. The investigation remains ongoing.

The FDA has resumed its investigation into the Salmonella Enteritidis outbreak (ref #1301) following the addition of new cases with updated exposure information. Traceback efforts are currently underway.

April 23rd, 2025:
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is investigating a new outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis (ref #1301) linked to an unidentified product. The outbreak has so far affected 22 people. The outbreak, which was reported on April 23, 2025, is currently active and ongoing. The FDA has initiated a traceback to identify the source of the contamination. The product linked to the illnesses has not yet been identified, making it difficult for consumers to avoid the potentially contaminated item.
The problem was discovered when the FDA began receiving reports of people falling ill with symptoms consistent with Salmonella Enteritidis. The agency has since initiated an inspection and is currently conducting sampling to further investigate the source of the outbreak. The FDA is working diligently to identify the product and prevent further illnesses.
