“Every time I have a donut from that place I get sick as dog. I’ve never put the two together until recently. I decided to have a donut from there twice in one week then I realized that my upset stomach, diarrhea and even vomiting in the past was all because of their donuts. I went to two different o... nes in two different cities in one week, BOTH days I was feeling nausea! I used to drink their coffees at one point and I just felt sick, but I thought it was because I was crashing. Now I know not to ever put their donuts in my mouth. ”

“So of all days Sunday May 9th 2021 I had a piece of avocado toast from there because my son was cooking for me I did not want to eat heavy. I ate this around 1:30 pm and around 5:30 I kept feeling like man I’m gonna get sick. (I never get sick or go to the hospital thank God) but the nauseousness wa... s so over powering. I went to the bathroom and just waited and I couldn’t believe how bad I was vomiting. Not once or twice but I vomited 5 different times that day. Had severe diarrhea along with sweating and at one point I thought I was cold also a pounding headache. May 10th I was scared to eat. I finally at a salad around 6pm and was okay. Still had a headache and along with Body aches now. I can’t remember if I ever had the flu if I did i was a little girl and don’t remember it but I know I never had food poisoning. Like I said I never get sick. The only time I’ve vomited was with both of my pregnancies and I was 100% sure that’s not what it was. Because of my symptoms and covid I got tested for the 1st time since the virus started and I was really praying that that’s not what it was and I really didn’t feel it was covid just because no one else at my parents house got sick that day and I’m the only one that ate avocado toast from there!! So just to be sure I got tested about 7pm on the 10th. Mannn on the 11th I woke up and everything hurt. My fingers were even achy and to breathe or laugh hurt. I was in the bed all day on the 11th and didn’t leave the second floor of my house that entire day. It hurt to move. My bowels are not back to normal but not what it was on the 9th praise God. May 12th I woke with still a tinge of headache and body aches are still there but not as bad and I’m moving just because I refuse to stay in bed another day. I got my covid results back this morning and Praise God they are NEGATIVE!!! I’m keeping my appointment scheduled for this Friday even still but nothing against this or any other one but I will NEVER eat anything or drink anything ever again from here just because who wants to go through that again!!! Honestly I’m upset with myself because when I saw the toast I really almost didn’t want to eat it because I got this feeling when I looked at it but I overrode that because I was hungry and prayed over it and ate it. So that’s my story and hopefully no one else has to ever go through this. Not something I ever want to experience again ever!! ”

“I ordered a mini fillet burger and 3 x 2 hot wings which arrived around 9pm on the 4th of May. I had my food straight away but I woke up in the middle of the night with a sudden urge to go take a poop and I did which was very unusual for me as I rarely woke up in the middle of the night to poop. Wen... t back to sleep and by the next morning I was suffering from severe diarrhoea and spent the whole day going up and down to the toilet. As we speak I am typing this whilst sat on the toilet at 3 am on the morning of the 6th of May and have not been able to sleep because of this. “UPDATE May 12, 2021
The investigation is ongoing. The outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 that is possibly linked to fresh produce is now a multi-county outbreak, as now there are reported cases from Benton, Snohomish, and Walla Walla counties, apart from the ones from King County. The Washington State H... ealth Department (DOH) is involved in the investigation along with local health jurisdictions.
UPDATE May 7, 2021.
The investigation is ongoing. They have identified multiple types of fresh produce, mostly organic, in common among the majority of cases but cannot yet rule out other possibilities. They are still uncertain if these cases share the same source of their infection or not. Updates will continue to be posted when more information is available.
May 5, 2021
Public Health is investigating a new cluster of seven children infected with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (also known as STEC) in King County. All cases are currently under 14 years of age, and three are under five years of age. Cases have been reported between April 22–May 1, 2021.
All 7 children developed symptoms consistent with STEC, including diarrhea (often bloody), abdominal cramping, nausea, and vomiting. Illness onsets occurred during April 17–29, 2021. Six children have been hospitalized; this includes one child who developed a type of kidney complication called hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) and is recovering and a second child who is suspected to have HUS.
The investigation is ongoing, and they have not identified any foods, restaurants, or other sources in common among all cases. It is not yet known whether these cases share the same source or not. Public Health is conducting interviews with cases and their parents/guardians to help identify any common exposures. They are working with the Washington State Department of Health to complete further testing and to help identify possible related cases in other counties.
Public Health advises If you or your child develop painful or bloody diarrhea, diarrhea that lasts more than 3 days or is accompanied by a high fever or decreased urine, contact your healthcare provider to see if testing for STEC is indicated. Anyone ill with suspected or known STEC should not work in or attend childcare or preschool, or work in food handling or healthcare until cleared by Public Health.
