“I ordered a feta avocado toast here on Nov 3rd 2018 at 11 am and after 30 minutes started to feel very sick to my stomach. “The Bates Health Services (BHS) is investigating multiple reports of illness across campus. Up to Monday 12th, 14 students reported experiencing symptoms of food poisoning. BHS started receiving reports on April 9th. However, an informal poll conducted by The Student, a college newspaper, indicates... See Morethat the number of people impacted may be as high as 100.
BHS confirmed that the GI symptoms could be attributed to the presence of Salmonella bacteria. The Dining, Conferences, and Campus Events (DCCE) is working to determine the exact cause of the illnesses and they have sent samples of a pad thai served on Thursday to a lab for testing. Several of the ill people reported eating the popular vegan pad thai served at lunch.
BHS asked students who are experiencing symptoms consistent with a Salmonella infection to reach out at (207) 386-6199. If it is an emergency, call (207) 386-6111 to be connected to Bates EMS and Campus Safety.
If you attend Bates College and recently have developed nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, or other food poisoning symptoms, report it now.

The green grapes were the ones i got sick from, the red grapes i purchased about a few days before the green ones,didnt had any side effects from the red, i put together a cheese and grape board to eat as a late snack, i wanted to make sure that they are not poisoned or i give the benefit of the doubt that green grapes on an empty stomach depends on how many, can have some very unpleasant effects. “Half-and-half Purchased the half-and-half from there on Monday 4/12/21 and had a couple tablespoons in my coffee this morning 4/13/21. Almost immediately, I had diarrhea and stomach cramps. After a long while in the bathroom, thought it was a fluke so had another sip of coffee. Again, Immediately ha... Recall details: Today Sabra Dipping Company, LLC announced that, in partnership with the FDA, it is voluntarily recalling app... See Moreroximately 2,100 cases of 10 oz Classic Hummus because it was potentially contaminated with Salmonella, that was discovered by a routine screen of a single tub by the FDA. The recall is limited to 1 SKU of 10 oz Classic Hummus produced on Friday, February 10, 2021 between the hours of 6:00 PM and 12:00 midnight with a “Best Before” date of April 26.
The voluntary recall is limited only to 10 oz Classic Hummus. No other Sabra products are affected by this recall. This product was distributed to 16 states. The product is over halfway through its shelf life. It’s unlikely you’ll find this product on the shelf. No illnesses or consumer complaints have been reported to date in connection with this recall. The recalled product is listed below. Consumers can find time stamp and “Best Before” date on the top of each package.
- Classic Hummus, 10oz. UPC: 300067. Best Before: 4/26/21. PRODUCTION DATE/TIME STAMP: On: Feb 10 Between: 18:00:27 and 23:49:00.
