As of now, there are reports of seven people infected with the outbreak strain of Listeria monocytogenes in Connecticut, Maryland, New York, and Virginia. Six of the seven ill people are Hispanic. “I ate broccoli cheddar soup that we picked up curbside and I put it in one of their bread bowls. 3 hours or so later I had severe cramping that woke me, diarrhea and nausea. My boyfriend and I went to the travel club and I had to excuse myself twice to use the washroom. I still dismissed it... I had numerous bouts of violent vomitting and watery stools accompanied by body aches, headaches and dizziness.
