Afroase Biteku Leaves - recalled due to unapproved pesticide

The FSAI announced the recall of Afroase Biteku Leaves due to the presence of the pesticide chlorpyrifos-ethyl which is no longer approved for food use in the EU.Although the consumption of the implicated batches of Afroase Biteku Leaves is unlikely to pose an immediate risk to health, continuous consumption of chlorpyrifos-ethyl over a long period of time may pose a potential risk to health. Therefore, exposure to this substance needs to be minimized.
The recalled product is:
- Afroase Biteku Leaves, pack size: 500g, Batch Code: 2104120146, 2107190129, 2108170055 and 2110140053; best before date: 31/12/2024, Country Of Origin: Cameroon.
