Food Safety Report: Axfood Guaranteed Eggs recalled due to Salmonella

1 month ago source axfood.se

Recall notice

Sundsvall, Västernorrland County, Sweden

Swedish food retailer Axfood is recalling two types of eggs from its Garant brand due to potential salmonella contamination. The recall was initiated after the egg producer discovered salmonella in the stable environment where the eggs were laid. The recalled eggs have been sold in most of Axfood's store chains in Sweeden and have now been removed from sale.

The following two products are affected by the recall, and no other egg varieties or package sizes are affected by the recall:

- Guaranteed Eggs, Free range indoors, Medium, 6-pack, with a best before date up to and including 2024-08-13 and with the code 2SE684-35 and 2SE684-36. The packaging is marked with packaging number SE007.

- Guaranteed Eggs, Free range indoors, Medium, 15-pack, with a best before date up to and including 2024-08-13 and with the code 2SE684-35 and 2SE684-36. The packaging is marked with packaging number SE007.

Eggs with a different code may appear in the cartons but are not touched.

Axfood advises consumers who have purchased the affected products to return them to the store for a refund.

In case you are experiencing Salmonella symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
