Belfonte Chocolate to Die For Premium Ice Cream - recalled due to undeclared peanuts

Belfonte Dairy is announcing a recall of the 1.5 quarts (1.41 L)"Chocolate to Die For" Premium Ice Cream produced at its Kansas City ice cream manufacturing facility. The product may contain undeclared peanuts. The affected products were sold and distributed to customers at Hy-Vee, Cash Saver, Harps, Price Mart and Heartland Stores and distributors in the following areas: Kansas City, Missouri Metro Area, including Kansas City, Kansas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Columbia, Missouri; Springfield, Missouri, and surrounding areas. The recalled product is: 1.5-Quart Belfonte Ice Cream Flavor, "Chocolate to Die For" with UPC 83057 17049 and the use by dates and plant codes detailed in the image below. People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. If consumers have the recalled product, they can return it to the place of purchase for a refund. Belfonte initiated the recall after receiving a consumer complaint, where it was discovered that the Chocolate to Die For cartons of ice cream were distributed in packages that did not declare the presence of peanuts. Belfonte has not received any reports of illness associated with this product to date. Other Belfonte Dairy products are not part of this recall.
