Several importers are recalling Century brand Tuna Hot and Spicy due to undeclared allergens. The product, imported from the Philippines, is sold at selected ethnic grocery stores throughout New Zealand. The issue was discovered during routine testing, revealing the presence of undeclared allergens, specifically gluten and wheat. This poses a potential health risk to consumers with allergies or intolerances to these substances.The recalled product is:
- Century brand Tuna Hot and Spicy
- Sold in a 180g can.
- All batches and all dates are included in the recall.
- It's important to note that Century brand Tuna Hot and Spicy with gluten and wheat declared is not affected by this recall.
Consumers who are allergic are advised to not consume the product and to return it to where they purchased it.
